The Listening section assesses listening for detail and gist, using short and extended listening across 12 questions. Both sections test British English.

The OPT and OPT for Young Learners have been fully incorporated at Clark Academy and the consistency and readiness of the results have allowed us to make informed decisions for our courses. For young learners, it guides them through the process of English Language Acquisition until they are at an age (12) where the ones who scored high enough will need to be assessed with the OPT for adults, thus broadening the spectrum for assessment and their preparation for International Exams when they turn 16.
For Adults, the OPT gives incredibly accurate scores not only for placement adult learners in OUP courses but across platforms and other publishers. Furthermore, the results obtained in the Oxford Test of English have been very consistent, so much so that it has become a filter for candidates seeking additional training or taking exams as soon as the results analysis allow for it.
