What if my order hasn't arrived?

If the item is in stock it will be shipped within 3 business days by parcel delivery service. If you have still not received your order after 7 days, please contact us at shop@oupjapan.com, quoting your Order Number.

There's a problem with a delivery I've received

You sent me a damaged or defective item

If the product you received is incorrect or damaged, you can exchange it for the correct one when a replacement is available. When a replacement is not available, you may return the item, and we will issue a full refund for the price you paid for the item.

Please note that we are unable to exchange items or accept returns for reasons other than described above.

Please contact us at shop@oupjapan.com and inform us that you wish to exchange or return an item quoting your Order Number within 5 business days of delivery. We will provide instructions on the process. Please note we will not accept return or exchange if we don't receive a request in advance.

I haven't received everything I ordered

If the contents of the package delivered does not match your order, please contact us at shop@oupjapan.com within 5 working days after you receive the package, quoting your Order Number, and they will arrange for immediate shipment of the missing item or refund.

You sent me the wrong items

If items have been supplied in error please contact us at shop@oupjapan.com within 5 working days after you receive your item, quoting your Order Number, and they will arrange for a replacement if available or refund.

Can I exchange an item?

At OUP we want you to be happy with everything you buy from us. Occasionally though, we know you may want to return items. If so please refer to our returns policy.

How to return an item

To return an item, please use our returns form. Please pack the item securely, enclosing the completed form and attaching the address supplied on the returns label. For further advice contact us at shop@oupjapan.com.

When do I get my refund once I've returned an item?

The refund process will start immediately after the item is received in our warehouse. The amount will be refunded to your credit card. Refund timing may vary depending on the credit card company.

How can I cancel my event registration?

Cancellation and refund policy varies depending on the event. Please follow the policy stated in the Commercial Policy or event details of the event you have registered for.
