Some children love to move, some love to create, and some love stories. How can we keep lessons interesting and engaging for all students, regardless of their learning style? PresentationBuilding Inclusive Lessons for All Students
Teachers have many things to consider when planning lessons. How can we plan lessons to reach all of our students, even that one who can't sit still? How can we teach about global issues using language our students understand? What are other ways we can assess our students besides tests? In this workshop, we'll explore answers to these questions, and more.

PresentationHow to boost students’ English and school enrollment with Oxford Reading Club
Extensive reading is popular with children and adults and is a simple but effective method which if you keep at shows results. I do all of my teaching online and nine months after I introduced Oxford Reading Club in my school, more and more children are speaking English at a higher level than what they are learning in their textbooks. Even in the COVID situation, extensive reading can be easily incorporated online, boosting your students’ English abilities and even support your school’s enrollment and revenue. In this presentation, I will explore, (1) How to create a system to motivate learners to keep reading. (2) How to incorporate extensive reading into the learning process. and (3) How to boost school enrollment.

She has been teaching in elementary school for about 15 years, and before that also held teaching positions at public junior and senior high schools. She has been a big believer in the CLIL methodology since she started teaching at elementary school, and strives to create lessons that improve children’s English and thinking skills. She constantly tries new ideas, which has been a daily process of trial and error, but she always enjoys seeing the children's improvement and is eager to share her ideas with other teachers.
PresentationCreating lessons that enhance thinking skills
CLIL can be a very effective approach to enhance both language and thinking skills. Having a textbook with the CLIL methodology embedded, such as Everybody Up from Oxford University Press, makes it easy to include CLIL into your lessons and expose students to other subjects in English. In this presentation, I will discuss the advantages of using a textbook to better structure your curriculum and look at some practical examples for using a textbook to meet the achievement goals of lower, middle, and upper grades. I will also introduce a framework to help plan your lessons.
