OUP author Roger Penrose jointly wins the Nobel Prize in Physics

The 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to Sir Roger Penrose, Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez for their work on black holes. Roger Penrose is Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. He received the award “for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity.”
