From picture-only books
designed to provide the best possible foundation in book
handling skills and enjoyment for the very youngest learners
(Stage 1), through to a wide range of fiction for adept
junior readers, the Oxford Reading Tree
successfully develops children's English reading skills
- whether they are native or non-native speakers.

| Great Fun! |
The first five levels of the Oxford Reading Tree
feature a colorful group of characters, Biff, Chip, Kipper
and Floppy the Dog. Young learners will readily identify
with their lives and adventures through stories about
such familiar experiences as having a wobbly tooth, losing
a favorite toy, and making a mess; situations familiar
to us all!
Encountering the same characters over a range of levels and throughout the wide range of available components helps the young reader to build up comfortable familiarity with them and to develop a sense of continuity between stories.
A wide variety of components are available. Click here for more details.

Levels suitable for infants through to Junior High School students |
There are 10 stages in the Oxford Reading Tree,
with Stages 1 through 5 being the most appropriate for
very young learners of English.
Within each stage there are a series of core storybooks
that form the 'trunk' of the ORT, along with a
collection of supplementary materials that provide 'branches'
to the main 'trunk'. 'Branches' provide extra practice
of the language introduced in the core storybooks and
we recommend that you use them only in conjunction with
the main storybooks, not on their own.
